What a difference on HF!
Here at my QTH we have been having some interference from the electric poles in town and this has been going on for years. Well with the help of the local club, FCC and the power company there has been a great improvement. Tonight was the first time in years that I have been able to see everything on the waterfall of FLdigi. I want to thank everyone involved in making this happen. We now need to stay vigilant.

My utility company is great about this. They have equipment to pinpoint noisy insulators.... but I built the Ultrasonic Power Line Arc Detector mentioned in QST April 2006, and now I just call in pole numbers to make it easier for them.
ReplyDeleteSeveral Hams here have the equipment and tried to get the utility to fix the problem, but it finally took a helpful FCC representative to convince them it was their problem to fix. So going forward it should not be a problem any more.
