Linux has really come a long way here lately. I have been playing with UbuntuMate, and I like it. It has a good feel and also works on the new Raspberry Pi2. I like how the menus are setup. It just has a different feel than Ubuntu which is what I have been using. Check it out.

Broadband-Hamnet™ 1.0.1 for Ubiquiti Bullet M2 HP
I just received my Ubiquiti Bullet M2 HP today. I like it! I have already loaded the new software and it works great! This will be a lot better for field deployments of the Broadband-Hamnet™ mesh. There will be a lot less hanging in the air. I will be deploying the mesh system during Field Day, I will post some pictures later.

SignaLink Radio Interface
I have heard much about the SignaLink radio interface that I finally had to buy one. It looks like a very good quality piece of equipment. I have not tried it yet. but soon! I am going to connect it to my DX-70T and see how it performs. I have been busy in life and also busy trying to upgrade my shack. I have added some new things for the digital world and will be posting them here soon.

New cell phone
Normally a new cell phone would not be something very interesting to write about. I hate getting a new cell phone because you have to learn everything over. This new cell phone is the first "smart" phone for me. It is an Android Samsung Rugby Pro. I am excited about this phone because of the PSK app. I will be looking into this further. I also can use this phone to have weather maps during Skywarn activations. I hope going modern here will work out.

xRDP Remote Desktop Server
I have been playing with Windows 7 RDP lately and it has been fun. I was wondering about connecting to my Linux machine from my Windows 7 machine, it can be done! I had a fun time running command line and it was easy! I found a very good website that walks you through the process, it is pretty easy. Check it out.
